Fannie Mae HomePath closing costs assistance is an incentive for first time homebuyers. HomePath is Fannie Mae’s brand of resale homes and many are perfect for the first-time buyer. The HomePath Ready Buyer Program features a new, online course that first- time buyers can complete. After successful completion the buyer will be rewarded with 3% closing cost assistance when they purchase a Fannie Mae HomePath home. Their selling agent simply attaches the completion certificate with the offer and requests up to 3% of closing cost assistance!
There are some restrictions:
- Buyers cannot have owned property in past 3 years (these are first-timers only)!
- Course has to be completed prior to the initial offer being submitted
- Owner occupant offers only
- Closing cost assistance not available on certain types of HomePath properties such as reverse mortgage (HECM), auction, or pool (bulk) sale properties.
